At the end of the iQFOiL World Championship Qualification Series in Weymouth and Portland, Noah Lyons (USA) emerged top of the men with 49 points, and Tamar Steinberg (ISR) top of the women with 44 points.
With the Final Series now complete for both fleets, the stage is set for Saturday’s Medal Series, when the top ten men and women will return to the water for their medal series, comprising Quarter, Semi Final and four board Final.
The top two: women Steinberg and Kantor, and men Lyons and Van Opzeeland, are seeded to their Finals and carry forward to the Final one match point each.
The sixth to tenth overall ranked boards race in the Quarter Final, then the top two race with the fifth, fourth and third overall ranked boards in the Semi Final. The top two ranked then join the two seeded boards in the Final and the Final will continue until one board collects two match points.
Britain has one competitor in the women’s Medal series, Islay Watson goes through in 6th to the Quarter Final. Emma Wilson finished 16th. In the men Britain’s Finn Hawkins finished 12th.
